Shifts: Rotating day/mid-shifts (07:00–19:00 / 12:00–00:00) 4 on 4 off
Our client is one of the UK’s leading food produce and processing businesses, operating state-of-the-art packing, storage, and automated production facilities. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a motivated, electrically biased Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their established engineering team.

What You'll Be Doing
As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will ensure maximum uptime and operational efficiency across a fast-paced production and packaging facility.
Maintenance: Execute planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and rapid reactive breakdown support.
Fault Finding: Diagnose and resolve complex electrical and mechanical faults, utilizing PLC diagnostics.
Continuous Improvement: Support reliability projects, root-cause analysis, and equipment upgrades/installations.
Asset Management: Log activities accurately via a CMMS and assist with critical spare parts inventory.
Safety First: Ensure all engineering works strictly comply with company procedures and health & safety legislation.
The Equipment You’ll Support
You will gain excellent exposure to a diverse range of automated production and packing systems, including:
Grading and sorting technology
Flow wrappers and high-speed packaging machinery
Robotic case packers, strappers, and palletisers
Conveyor systems and industrial pumps
What We Are Looking For
To be successful, you must be a team player with strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to engineering challenges.
Essential Criteria:
Proven experience as a Multi-Skilled or Maintenance Engineer in manufacturing, FMCG, food processing, or automation.
A strong electrical engineering bias combined with solid mechanical competency.
A recognized engineering qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, ONC/HNC, 18th Edition, or a completed Electrical Apprenticeship).
Hands-on PLC fault-finding and diagnostic experience.
Proficiency using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
Desirable Criteria:
Background in food manufacturing, fresh produce, or high-speed packaging environments.
Experience or training in Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies.
Shift Pattern
This role operates on a rotating shift basis, primarily covering:
07:00 – 19:00
12:00 – 00:00 (Note: Occasional 09:00 – 21:00 shifts may be required during quieter operational periods).
