Air Import Operations Coordinator

Location: London Heathrow, LHR
Salary: £34,000 - £39,000
Monday - Friday | 8:30am - 5:30pm
Permanent Position

We're recruiting for an experienced Air Import Operations Coordinator to join a well-established global logistics and supply chain business.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong air import freight forwarding experience who enjoys taking full ownership of shipments and delivering a high level of service to customers.

You'll manage air imports from arrival through to final delivery, working closely with customers, airlines, overseas agents, customs and internal teams to ensure shipments move smoothly, compliantly and on time.

• Managing air import shipments from arrival through to final delivery
• Coordinating customs clearance, documentation and delivery requirements
• Liaising with customers, airlines, overseas agents, carriers and internal teams
• Tracking shipments and providing accurate, proactive customer updates
• Handling rates, quotations, routing and transport arrangements
• Ensuring import documentation is complete and compliant
• Managing job costing, billing and shipment profitability accurately
• Identifying efficient and commercially viable transport solutions
• Maintaining high standards of operational performance and customer service
• Supporting the wider operations team when required

We're looking for someone with previous experience within air freight forwarding, ideally handling air imports independently.

You'll ideally have:

• 2+ years' freight forwarding or international logistics experience
• Strong knowledge of air import operations
• Good understanding of customs clearance and import documentation
• Confidence managing shipments from start to finish
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Strong organisation and attention to detail
• The ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities in a fast-paced environment
• A proactive, commercially aware approach to freight operations
