Title: Area Sales Manager

Location: Chelmsford

Salary: c£40,880 - OTE c£53,000 + Comprehensive Benefits

The Client

Our client is a well-established international manufacturer with a strong reputation in professional cleaning solutions. They are growing their UK field team and offer genuine autonomy, structured training and real career development.

The role

This is a true territory role for a driven business developer. You will own your patch, build your own pipeline and be accountable for the numbers. Working across sectors such as building services, industry, hospitality and the public sector, you will promote professional floor care, vacuum and automated cleaning solutions to end users.

You will have the freedom to plan your own week, with a strong focus on face-to-face time with customers.

Key responsibilities

• Generate your own leads through cold calling, research and planned area visits
• Book and carry out site visits, surveys and product demonstrations
• Build and develop long-term customer relationships, and grow existing accounts
• Manage and report on your pipeline accurately through the company CRM
• Take full ownership of revenue performance across your territory
• Demonstrate equipment hands-on, including mechanical and autonomous machines
• Develop expert product and application knowledge to advise customers
• Work closely with key account managers and internal teams within your sector
• Provide accurate forecasts (monthly, quarterly and annually)

About you

• Proven B2B sales experience with a track record of hitting growth targets in a competitive market
• Territory experience. Candidates from inside sales with some customer visit experience will also be considered
• A hunter mentality: confident, energetic, professional and credible in front of customers
• Strong CRM skills and a data-driven approach to planning your territory and managing your time
• Comfortable with hands-on demonstrations and moving equipment
• Excellent communication skills and strong commercial awareness
• GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or above
• Cleaning equipment industry knowledge or experience with professional floor care or automation (desirable)
• Based within the territory
