Job Description:

Assistant Accountant Location: Castleford
Salary: Up to £35,000 + Study Support   The Opportunity   Elevation Accountancy & Finance are currently recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join a growing finance team based in Castleford.   This is a great opportunity for an experienced finance professional looking to take the next step in their career, with the chance to gain further exposure to management accounts, VAT, reconciliations and year-end processes.   The Role   As an Assistant Accountant, you will support the wider finance function across a range of accounting duties, including:

• Completing bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Reviewing trial balances through to management account level
• Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts
• Preparing and posting journals
• Supporting the preparation of VAT returns
• Providing support across purchase and sales ledger when required
• Producing ad-hoc reports and providing support to the Head of Finance and Company Accountant
• Assisting with the year-end audit process

About You   We are looking for an Assistant Accountant with:

• AAT Level 3 or above
• At least 3 years' experience within an accounts role
• Strong Excel skills, ideally at an advanced level
• Microsoft Dynamics or Business Central experience would be desirable
• Payroll knowledge would be advantageous
• A strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently
