Assistant Buyer – Leading Civil Engineering Contractor

My Client are a well-established civil engineering and groundworks contractor based in Essex, specialising in residential developments, infrastructure and commercial projects across East Anglia and the South East. The company works with leading housebuilders and other clients, delivering a comprehensive range of services including groundworks, drainage, roads, substructures and infrastructure packages, with a strong focus on quality, safety and reliable project delivery.

Duties:

Working closely with the buying and commercial teams, you will assist with the procurement of materials, plant and services for a range of civil engineering and groundworks projects. Responsibilities will include obtaining quotations, raising purchase orders, liaising with suppliers and subcontractors, monitoring deliveries and ensuring materials are available to meet project requirement

Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will:

• Have experience in a buying or procurement role, ideally within construction or civil engineering (Although not essential)
• Have good communication, organisational and negotiation skills.
• Be confident liaising with suppliers and internal teams.
• Be IT literate, with good attention to detail.
• Be keen to develop their career within a busy civil engineering and groundworks environment.

Salary

The salary on offer for this role is up to £30k +package, dependent upon previous experience.
