Our Environment Business
Our Environment business is a specialist division of Galliford Try, delivering essential infrastructure that keeps the UK's water and environmental systems operating efficiently and sustainably.
Working across the UK, we partner with all 13 of the country's major water and sewerage companies, alongside public and private sector clients, helping to tackle the challenges of ageing infrastructure, climate resilience, environmental protection and increasing regulatory demands.
Procurement at Galliford Try

We're now looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Buyer to join our Procurement team, supporting the delivery of major infrastructure projects for Thames Water. This is an excellent opportunity to build a long-term career within procurement while working alongside experienced professionals in one of the UK's leading construction businesses.
The Role
As an Assistant Buyer, you'll play an important role in supporting the regional procurement team, helping to source materials, plant and subcontract services across a diverse portfolio of projects.
Working closely with our Buyers, Senior Buyers, commercial teams and operational colleagues, you'll help deliver efficient procurement processes, develop strong supplier relationships and ensure our projects receive the right materials and services at the right time.
This role offers excellent on-the-job training and development, making it an ideal opportunity for someone looking to establish or grow their career within construction procurement.

About You
We're looking for someone who is organised, proactive and eager to develop a career in procurement.
You'll ideally have:
Strong organisational and administrative skills.
Excellent communication skills with the confidence to build relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Good attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
A basic commercial awareness.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
It would also be beneficial if you have:
Previous experience within construction, engineering, infrastructure or a similar industry.
A positive, collaborative and proactive approach to work.
An interest in working towards CIPS accreditation and developing a long-term career in procurement.
