ASSISTANT ENGINEERING MANAGER

Job Title: Assistant Engineering Manager

Location: Nenagh, Co. Tipperary

Salary: €70,000 - €90,000 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits Shift: Days (Weekend Management Responsibility)

Job Role of the Assistant Engineering Manager

An exciting opportunity has become available for an Assistant Engineering Manager to join a leading food manufacturing business. This is a genuine succession planning role, working alongside the current Engineering Manager, who will mentor and develop you with the aim of progressing into the Engineering Manager position.

Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, you'll lead a team of eight multi-skilled engineers, driving engineering performance, continuous improvement and plant reliability while working closely with Operations to maximise production efficiency.

Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Assistant Engineering Manager

• Previous experience leading or supervising an engineering team within an FMCG or manufacturing environment.
• Multi-skilled engineering background with a recognised engineering qualification.
• Would consider a hands on Engineer looking for a step up 

Essential Requirements for the Assistant Engineering Manager

• Engineering qualification (Electrical or Mechanical).
• Previous experience managing or supervising maintenance engineers within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding experience.
• Experience working with planned preventative maintenance (PPM) systems and reactive maintenance.
• Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.

Requirements for the Assistant Engineering Manager

• Previous experience working as an Assistant Engineering Manager, Engineering Team Leader, Engineering Supervisor, Maintenance Supervisor or Senior Maintenance Engineer.
• Experience using a CMMS to plan, schedule and manage engineering activities.
• Ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives and improve equipment reliability and OEE.
• Experience managing engineering KPIs, labour utilisation and maintenance planning.
• Strong understanding of health & safety, engineering compliance and contractor management.
• Experience coaching, mentoring and developing engineering teams.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Production and Site Management to achieve operational targets.
• Willingness to support weekend site management when required.
