About the Role
We are looking for an Assistant Manager - Bilateral Credit to join our Bilateral Credit team within Wholesale.
The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying new business opportunities, assessing credit and financial risks, preparing loan proposals and managing loan assets. The role will involve regular interaction with corporates, banks and financial institutions, as well as internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand the loan syndication market and identify potential business opportunities.
- Scout the market and generate business leads in line with agreed targets.
- Assess financial and credit risks associated with potential business opportunities.
- Prepare loan proposals and present them to the relevant credit committees.
- Support syndicated loan, project finance and structured finance transactions.
- Manage assigned loan assets and monitor the quality of the loan portfolio.
- Maintain strong relationships with banks, financial institutions, corporates and other market participants.
- Gather market intelligence and identify opportunities for participation in syndicated loan deals.
- Coordinate the documentation and completion of sanctioned loan facilities, including liaison with solicitors and relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure appropriate documentation is in place for security creation and perfection.
- Liaise with credit administration teams regarding loan accounts and ongoing monitoring.
- Identify early signs of stress within existing loan assets and support the development of appropriate resolution strategies.
- Assist with restructuring, rescheduling and write-off processes where required.
- Conduct client, bank and financial institution visits where necessary to support new and existing business.
- Act as a key relationship point for clients and counterparties, resolving issues and ensuring effective communication with stakeholders.
- Support audits, compliance requirements, reporting and maintenance of appropriate records.
- Ensure periodic reviews and renewals of accounts are completed in line with relevant policies and guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the department to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
About You

- A clear understanding of the loan syndication market and associated terminology.
- Strong knowledge of financial and balance sheet analysis.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills, with experience interacting with customers, banks and financial institutions.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to planning and organisation.
- Excellent time-management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A self-driven and proactive approach, with the ability to work independently.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage work-related pressure effectively.
- Good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Access.
- A strong focus on accuracy and turnaround times.
