Job Description:

Build Recruitment are working with an established and growing M&E contractor who are looking to appoint an Assistant Mechanical Project Manager to join their team in Plymouth.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a commercial and industrial mechanical background who is looking to take the next step in their career and develop into a fully-fledged Mechanical Project Manager.

You’ll join an experienced and supportive team, working alongside senior project managers and gaining valuable exposure across the full project lifecycle.

As an Assistant Mechanical Project Manager, you will support the successful delivery of mechanical projects across commercial and industrial environments.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the management and delivery of mechanical projects.

• Assisting with project planning, programming and coordination.

• Liaising with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and site teams.

• Supporting procurement and subcontractor management.

• Assisting with project costs, variations and commercial reporting.

• Monitoring project progress, quality and programme.

• Attending project and site meetings.

• Supporting the Senior Project Manager with day-to-day project management.

• Taking on increasing responsibility as your experience develops.

We’re looking for someone who is keen, motivated and genuinely wants to progress their career.

You’ll ideally have:

• A relevant mechanical engineering or construction qualification.

• Experience working on commercial and/or industrial mechanical projects.

• A good understanding of mechanical services and project delivery.

• Strong communication and organisational skills.

• Good commercial awareness.

• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.

• The ambition to develop within a supportive project team.

• £50,000 – £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.

• Genuine progression towards a Mechanical Project Manager position.
