Associate/Associate Director - Electrical Engineering
Birmingham (1 day/week office, 4 days WFH)
£75,000-£95,000
We're working with a global Building Services & Sustainability consultancy, delivering world-leading Electrical, Mechanical and Public Health (MEP) design solutions, to find an Associate/Associate Director – Electrical Engineering to join their team.
With over 10 offices across the UK and key international regions including Asia and the Middle East, and a network of more than 100 team members, this business has the agility and scale to respond flexibly to evolving markets while maintaining a strong technical reputation on complex MEP projects.
This role offers a highly flexible working pattern — just one day a week in the Birmingham office, with the remaining four days home-based — alongside genuine scope to shape and grow the electrical engineering offering.
Responsibilities:
- Leading the design and delivery of electrical engineering solutions across a range of MEP projects
- Managing and mentoring junior engineers within the electrical team
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships, acting as a key technical point of contact
- Overseeing project delivery from concept through to completion, ensuring quality, budget and programme are met
- Contributing to business development and supporting the growth of the electrical engineering team
- Ensuring designs comply with relevant standards, regulations and sustainability principles
- Collaborating closely with mechanical, public health and wider multidisciplinary teams
About you:
- Chartered or working towards chartership in Electrical Engineering
- Strong experience in electrical building services design, ideally at Associate or Senior Engineer level looking to step up
- Proven track record managing projects and client relationships
- Experience mentoring or leading junior team members
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach
