Job Description:

A well established and highly regarded independent chartered accountancy practice based in Uckfield is seeking an Audit Semi Senior to join their growing team. This role offers increasing responsibility, exposure to a varied client portfolio, and excellent opportunities for career development within a supportive environment.

The role will include:

• Assisting in the planning and execution of statutory audits for a diverse portfolio of clients, including SMEs and owner managed businesses
  
• Undertaking audit fieldwork, including testing of controls and substantive testing across key financial areas
  
• Preparing clear and well structured audit working papers in line with firm and regulatory standards
  
• Taking responsibility for specific sections of audits, with increasing ownership as experience develops
  
• Identifying audit issues and communicating findings to senior team members
  
• Assisting with the preparation of statutory accounts in line with UK GAAP
  
• Supporting the completion of audit assignments, including resolving queries and finalising files
  
• Building effective working relationships with clients and acting as a point of contact during audit engagements
  
• Supporting and guiding junior team members where appropriate
  

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 12 months experience and studying towards ACCA or ACA
  
• A practical audit and accounts experience gained from an accountancy practice with non-profit companies and charities. 
  
• A knowledge of various software packages
  
• Strong communication and team working skills
  
• Experience in direct contact with clients would be preferred
