Avionic Manager – Base Maintenance

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Avionic Manager – Base Maintenance to join their established aviation engineering operation in Oxford.
This is a senior technical and leadership position, responsible for overseeing avionics maintenance activities and ensuring aircraft maintenance and repairs are completed to the required regulatory, safety and quality standards.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the continued safe operation of a range of Airbus helicopter platforms, while leading engineering teams and providing technical support to engineers and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise avionics maintenance activities in accordance with company procedures, engineering standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure staff adhere to company policies, engineering practices and applicable aviation regulations.
- Certify maintenance and repairs on a range of helicopter platforms.
- Assist with production and maintenance planning to ensure work is delivered efficiently and on schedule.
- Supervise the battery workshop and other component maintenance activities within company approvals.
- Liaise with Part 21 engineering and design functions where required.
- Inspect components and issue EASA/UK CAA Form 1 documentation where authorised.
- Provide technical support and guidance to regional engineers and customers.
- Manage MGS and other associated maintenance software/systems.
- Support continuous improvement across maintenance operations.
- Ensure a strong focus on safety, quality, compliance and attention to detail.
- Lead, develop and support engineering personnel, promoting high standards and effective teamwork.
Essential Requirements
- Part-66 B2 Licence with C Certifying Privileges.
- Relevant type ratings, including EC135/H135 and EC145/H145.
- Strong knowledge of aircraft avionics, engine and airframe systems.
- Strong understanding of UK CAA aviation regulations and maintenance requirements.
- Previous experience in a senior avionics, aircraft maintenance or engineering leadership position.
- Experience working within a regulated aviation maintenance environment.
- Strong communication, organisational and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt quickly to changing operational requirements.
Desirable
- H160 type rating.
- Single Group type rating.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in an aircraft maintenance, aviation engineering or related discipline.
- Experience with component maintenance and Form 1 certification.
