Job Description:

Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant - Swindon

Are you passionate about supporting children's behaviour, emotional development and helping pupils overcome barriers to learning?

A supportive mainstream primary school in Swindon is looking for a resilient, patient and enthusiastic Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to join their team full time, starting on a temporary basis.

The school is committed to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment, supporting pupils who may experience difficulties with behaviour, emotional regulation, social interaction and classroom engagement.

As a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant, you will:

· Provide 1:1 and small-group behaviour support.

· Help pupils develop positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies.

· Build trusting relationships with children.

· Support pupils to remain engaged with classroom learning.

· Encourage positive choices, confidence and independence.

· Help manage transitions and classroom routines.

· Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support individual needs.

Whether you have previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker, Support Worker or are a graduate looking to build a career in Psychology, Education or Mental Health, this role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your practical experience.

While previous behaviour support experience would be an advantage, it is not essential. Most importantly, the school is looking for someone who is calm, consistent and resilient, with a genuine passion for supporting children's emotional and behavioural development.
