Bid Manager – Civil Engineering / Structures

Are you an experienced Bid Manager with a background in civil engineering or construction?

A highly respected specialist contractor is looking for an experienced Bid Manager to take ownership of major civil engineering and RC structures tenders across London and the South East. With a strong order book, an excellent reputation and ambitious growth plans, this is an opportunity to play a key role in securing high-value projects while progressing your career within a successful and collaborative business.

As Bid Manager, you will lead the full bid lifecycle, working closely with senior leadership, commercial and operational teams to develop compelling, commercially focused and winning tender submissions.

You will manage bids from PQQ and pre-qualification through to final tender submission, coordinating internal and external stakeholders and ensuring submissions are delivered to the highest possible standard.

Projects will typically range from £5m to £30m, giving you exposure to complex and high-profile schemes across the London and South East market.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the full bid and tender process from pre-qualification through to submission.
• Develop clear, compelling and commercially focused bid strategies and submissions.
• Coordinate contributions from operational, commercial, estimating and senior management teams.
• Manage multiple tenders, deadlines and stakeholders simultaneously.
• Produce high-quality written content, technical responses and presentations.
• Work closely with senior leadership to understand project requirements and develop winning propositions.
• Ensure bids are fully compliant, compelling and aligned with client requirements.
• Contribute to the continued growth and development of the business.

About you

You will be an experienced Bid Manager / Senior Bid Manager / Bid Writer with a proven track record of managing successful tenders within civil engineering, infrastructure, structures or construction.

You should have:

• Proven experience managing successful bids within the construction, civil engineering or infrastructure sectors – essential.
• Excellent bid writing and written communication skills.
• Strong stakeholder management and coordination abilities.
• Excellent organisation and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• A commercially aware and proactive approach.
• The ability to work confidently with senior management and operational teams.
• A genuine drive to develop winning bids and support business growth.
