Take Ownership of a Growing Finance Function

Are you an experienced Bookkeeper looking for a role where you can make a real impact?

We're recruiting on behalf of a well established and supportive business in Malvern that is seeking a hands on Bookkeeper to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys the day-to-day management of accounts but is also looking for the chance to develop their responsibilities over time.

Initially, you'll focus on the smooth running of transactional finance activities, gaining a thorough understanding of the business and its processes. As you become established, you'll have the opportunity to take on greater responsibility, with a clear pathway towards owning the bookkeeping and wider finance function.

The Role
As Bookkeeper, you will play a key role in maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of the finance function, ensuring financial processes run smoothly and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
Purchase Ledger

• Process supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.
• Reconcile supplier statements and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare supplier payment runs.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, responding to queries promptly.

Credit Control

• Manage customer accounts and proactively chase outstanding payments.
• Monitor aged debt and maintain accurate debtor records.
• Resolve customer payment queries professionally and efficiently.
• Support cash collection activities and help minimise overdue balances.

Cashflow & Finance Support

• Assist with daily cashflow monitoring and reporting.
• Support the preparation of financial information and management reports.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records.

Systems & Process Improvement

• Utilise Sage accounting software for daily financial processing.
• Ensure transactions are completed accurately and within agreed timescales.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance efficiency.
• Take on additional bookkeeping and finance responsibilities as the role evolves.

About You
We're looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience working as a Bookkeeper or within a similar finance position.
• Enjoys being hands-on and involved in the day-to-day detail of the accounts function.
• Has excellent organisational skills and a strong attention to detail.
• Can build effective relationships with both suppliers and customers.
• Is confident using accounting software, ideally Sage.
• Is eager to become an integral part of the business and grow into a broader finance role over time.
