Our client, a leading organisation in the financial services sector, is seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst (BA) to join their team for a temporary engagement. This pivotal role will contribute significantly to the EMEA Trade Surveillance Uplift project, a strategic initiative aimed at enhancing the Firm's trade surveillance capabilities.
Purpose of the Role:
The Business Analyst will be responsible for understanding and assessing changing business needs, analysing impacts, and documenting requirements. This role involves facilitating communication between various stakeholders and identifying impacts on the target operating model to provide effective solutions that mitigate risks. Key responsibilities include supporting business case development, planning, control processes, impact evaluation, traceability, and quality assurance/testing. A critical aspect of this role is ensuring regulatory compliance by translating EMEA regulatory requirements into actionable business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to understand current processes, identify change needs, and recommend optimal approaches.
- Produce comprehensive business analysis documentation, including target operating models, process models, business requirements, and test scripts.
- Track and analyse updates in EMEA regulatory frameworks, collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs) to document practical implications for systems and processes.
- Identify and document changes to operating models, timelines, and governance requirements.
- Assess impacts of proposed changes on services, functions, and systems; highlight options and dependencies to support informed decision-making.
- Communicate effectively within multi-disciplinary teams to gain consensus and implement solutions within established time, budget, and quality constraints.
- Articulate the benefits of proposed changes to stakeholders while addressing their concerns.
- Support QA/testing initiatives and assist in issue resolution.
- Develop plans and processes to evaluate change impacts and maintain audit-ready documentation.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
- Degree-level education; professional BA qualifications are desirable.
- 5-10 years of relevant business analysis experience, particularly within financial services.
- Strong multitasking abilities, relationship-building, and communication skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of front-to-back office processes and products.
- Proven experience in delivering projects, particularly those involving regulatory changes.
- Familiarity with banking operations and trade flows.
- Experience working in deadline-driven project teams.
- Ability to work collaboratively, resolve conflicts, and take initiative while supporting project leadership.
- Resilience under pressure and flexibility in transitioning between strategic and detailed tasks.
- Proficiency in gap analysis, target operating models, process modelling, business requirements gathering, and test script creation.
- Capability to analyse regulatory and business requirements and translate them into practical implications for processes and systems.
