The Opportunity:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Development Manager to join a highly successful and growing supplier within the KBB, worktops, surfaces and interiors sector.

Covering North England and Scotland, you will take ownership of a substantial geographical territory, developing existing accounts while proactively identifying and securing new business opportunities.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven sales professional who understands the KBB, worktop, surfaces, merchant or associated building-products market and enjoys being out in the field developing long-term customer relationships.

The Role:

As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving profitable sales growth across your territory and developing strong relationships with both new and existing customers.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing and developing an established geographical sales territory across North England and Scotland.
• Identifying and winning new business opportunities.
• Developing existing accounts and identifying opportunities to increase revenue and customer spend.
• Building strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers.
• Conducting regular face-to-face customer visits throughout the territory.
• Developing relationships with kitchen retailers, trade customers, merchants and other relevant industry partners.
• Identifying market opportunities and proactively targeting prospective accounts.
• Managing your own sales pipeline from initial contact through to conversion.
• Negotiating commercially while protecting margin and profitability.
• Working closely with internal sales, customer service and wider commercial teams.
• Maintaining accurate CRM records, sales forecasts and territory plans.
• Monitoring competitor activity and providing valuable market intelligence.
• Consistently achieving and exceeding agreed revenue, margin and new-business targets.

About You:

We're looking for a proactive, commercially focused sales professional who enjoys developing relationships and winning business.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Business Development Manager, Area Sales Manager, Territory Sales Manager or Key Account Manager.
• A proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
• Experience within the KBB, kitchens, worktops, surfaces, decorative panels, furniture, interiors, plumbing, merchant or building-products sectors would be highly advantageous.
• Strong new-business development skills alongside the ability to grow existing accounts.
• Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
• A strong understanding of territory management and account development.
• The confidence to engage with business owners, directors, purchasing teams and other senior decision-makers.
• A self-motivated and organised approach to managing a large geographical territory.
• Commercial awareness with a strong understanding of margin and profitability.
• A full UK driving licence.
• Flexibility to travel extensively throughout North England and Scotland.
