Basic Salary: £35,000-£50,000 DOE + £20,000-£30,000 realistic OTE + uncapped commission

We are working with a growing, innovative packaging manufacturer seeking an ambitious and commercially driven Business Development Manager to join its expanding sales team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking business specialising in high-quality flexible packaging and digital pouch solutions, supplying customers across a variety of sectors, including food and drink, pet food, cosmetics, healthcare and sports nutrition.

As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving new business growth while managing and developing an established portfolio of customers.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Identifying, targeting and winning new business opportunities within the packaging market.

• Developing and growing relationships with manufacturers, brand owners and key decision-makers.

• Managing and expanding existing customer accounts to maximise revenue and profitability.

• Selling value-added packaging solutions tailored to customers' technical and commercial requirements.

• Managing the full sales cycle, from prospecting and initial engagement through to negotiation and closing.

• Working closely with internal production and technical teams to ensure customer requirements are met.

• Building long-term strategic partnerships and delivering excellent customer service.

• Achieving and exceeding agreed sales targets.

We are looking for a proactive, self-motivated sales professional with a proven background in the packaging industry and a strong appetite for new business development.

You will ideally demonstrate:

• Previous experience in B2B sales within the packaging sector.

• A strong track record of generating new business and developing existing accounts.

• Experience selling flexible packaging, pouches, labels, printed packaging or related solutions.

• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.

• A commercially focused approach, with the confidence to sell on value rather than price alone.

• The ability to manage your own workload, plan your sales activity and work independently.

• A target-driven, resilient and ambitious mindset.

• A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customers across the UK.

Experience in digital pouches, flexographic print or flexible packaging would be particularly advantageous.

Candidates must be based in the Midlands, with the ability to travel to customer sites across the UK and attend the company's Wolverhampton office as required.

The role is field-based, with hybrid working arrangements dependent on your location and proximity to the office.
