Business Development Manager – Plant, Construction, Agricultural & Industrial Equipment markets

Flexible Home Location | Field based

£60k to 70k Salary + Uncapped commissions with OTE at 30k OTE + Car Allowance

Our client is a strong growth UK fleet services business with a significant opportunity to grow further in the plant, construction, agricultural and industrial equipment sectors. We’re looking for a driven business developer with sector knowledge, strong commercial judgement and a track record of winning new contracts.

You’ll create your own pipeline, build relationships with decision-makers and develop solutions that help customers improve equipment availability and control operating costs. You’ll own the sales process from first contact to signed contract.

What you’ll do

• Prospect and win new customers operating plant and heavy equipment
• Build relationships with plant directors, fleet managers, operations teams and procurement
• Understand customers’ operational challenges and develop tailored proposals
• Lead tenders, commercial negotiations and contract close
• Maintain a well-qualified pipeline and accurate forecasts
• Work with internal specialists to ensure a smooth handover of new business

What you’ll bring

• A proven track record in B2B new business sales within plant, heavy equipment or specialist services supplied to the sector
• Experience with a manufacturer, dealer, distributor or specialist supplier
• Strong understanding of plant operations, equipment uptime and cost pressures
• The drive to generate your own opportunities and the confidence to ask for the business
• Experience managing complex sales cycles with multiple decision-makers
• Strong organisation and a willingness to travel nationally
