ROLE:
This is a role for someone who already understands the pace, pressure and opportunity in same-day transport, UK haulage and European road freight. You will know how to open doors, uncover transport pain points, quote with confidence and turn one-off movements into valuable, long-term accounts. You will take ownership of new-business development across the UK and international road-freight services. Your focus will be on generating sustainable, profitable revenue rather than chasing unsuitable volume.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
•Building your own prospect list and target market through research, telephone prospecting, email campaigns, networking and referrals.
•Proactively contacting prospective customers against mutually agreed targets and developing a consistent, high-quality new-business pipeline.
•Selling and promoting the full service range once contact has been established, with particular emphasis on same-day courier, UK haulage, full and part loads, groupage and European road freight.
•Identifying opportunities to cross-sell international courier, customs support, air and sea freight, parcels, pallets and warehousing where they meet the customer’s needs.
•Developing relationships with decisionmakers in sectors where service, reliability and responsiveness matter, including manufacturing, distribution, retail, construction, healthcare and public-sector supply chains.
•Preparing accurate, commercially sound quotations and proposals, then following up professionally and persistently to convert opportunities.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Must have a provable track record of winning business in UK same-day transport, haulage or road freight. Must have a UK driving licence
