South / South West England (Extensive Travel Required)
£5,600 Car Allowance + 20% Annual Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits
This role will involve extensive travel to South/ South west of England and proven experience in any - mechanical, electrical, scaffolding, and insulation contracting, as well as projects, maintenance, and turnaround.
A leading engineering and maintenance provider is seeking a high‑impact Business Development Manager to drive growth across the South and South West of England. Operating across sectors such as chemical and petrochemical, nuclear, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, power and energy, utilities, renewables, and food and beverage, the organisation delivers full lifecycle asset support-from consulting and engineering to operations, maintenance, and decommissioning.

Role Overview
The Business Development Manager will play a pivotal role in expanding industrial services and engineering revenues, focusing on both existing customer development and new market penetration. The position requires extensive travel across the South and South West of England and benefits from experience in mechanical, electrical, scaffolding, insulation, projects, maintenance, or turnaround environments.
This individual will identify strategic opportunities, secure new business, nurture long‑term client relationships, and support the creation of compelling proposals and win themes. They will also maintain accurate CRM data and contribute to the organisation's commercial success.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Growth - Implements innovative strategies to strengthen competitive advantage and generate new sales within target market sectors. Ensures accurate tracking and reporting through CRM systems.
- Sales Achievement - Meets and exceeds sales and gross profit targets, supporting regional and sector growth objectives.
- Industry Networking - Builds strong relationships with key industry stakeholders and partners to unlock new business opportunities.
- Lead Identification - Monitors market trends, identifies new opportunities, and evaluates potential business partners and emerging markets.
- Sector Development - Develops mature sectors while nurturing growth in emerging markets through strategic planning and account management.
- Negotiation & Deal Closure - Leads negotiations with new and prospective partners, ensuring agreements align with operational capabilities and future delivery requirements.
- Customer Relationship Management - Cultivates long‑term relationships with senior stakeholders, ensuring exceptional service and representing client interests internally.
- Market Intelligence - Provides insights into competitor activity and market conditions to support strategic planning.
- Sales Culture Development - Promotes a high‑performance, customer‑focused sales culture across the organisation.
- Key Account Management - Works closely with operational teams to develop and protect key accounts in line with growth strategy.
Experience & Qualifications
- Strong background in Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Process, Power, or Pharmaceutical sectors
- Proven track record in Business Development, Sales, and value‑based selling at senior level
- Experience with multi‑discipline maintenance, projects, construction, or turnarounds
- Operational experience within relevant sectors (client or supply chain)
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Excellent communication skills, including presentations and written proposals
- Willingness to travel extensively across the South of England (role based from Warrington)
- HNC/HND/Degree preferred
