Business Development Manager – Water Hygiene & Legionella Control – Hard FM & NHS 

Salary: Up to £55,000 - £60,000 basic, flexible for the right industry background, plus commission as a percentage of sales, paid quarterly, high grade hybrid company car and private healthcare

The Company
A specialist manufacturer of water hygiene and infection prevention products, protecting against Legionella and other waterborne pathogens in healthcare facilities, care homes and public buildings. An established international business scaling its UK commercial team, working with NHS Trusts, private healthcare providers, hard FM contractors and water safety professionals.

The Role
Business Development Manager required to sell water hygiene and Legionella control solutions into major hard FM providers, including Mitie, Servest, CBRE, Equans, Vinci and Sodexo, alongside direct engagement with NHS Trusts, covering the whole of the UK. This is a field sales, new business role, not a people management role.

• Hunt and convert new business for water hygiene and Legionella control solutions across hard FM providers and NHS Trusts nationally
• Build relationships with estate managers, facilities managers and procurement teams
• Lead on producing tenders and framework submissions for water hygiene and water safety contracts
• Present technical and commercial water hygiene, Legionella control and compliance solutions
• Attend industry conferences, exhibitions and networking events across the water treatment and water safety sector
• Manage own pipeline and provide weekly activity reporting

The Candidate
Ideal candidates will have sold water hygiene, Legionella control, water treatment or water safety solutions into hard FM companies and/or the NHS. Candidates with a background selling other compliance led products, such as fire safety, security systems or lighting, into hard FM or the NHS are also encouraged to apply, as the procurement knowledge and network are highly transferable.

• Minimum 3 years commercial experience in water hygiene, Legionella control, water treatment or a related compliance/FM facing sector
• Existing network within hard FM (Mitie, Servest, CBRE, Equans, Vinci, Sodexo) and/or NHS
• Strong understanding of NHS procurement and framework processes
• Proven experience producing tenders and framework submissions
• Track record in new business development and territory management
• Full UK driving licence, willing to travel nationally
