Business Development Manager – PPE, Workwear & Laundry Services

Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 basic + Uncapped Commission
OTE: £50,000 – £60,000+
Company Car or Car Allowance
Location: UK – Flexible / Home-Based

We’re expanding our sales team and are looking for an ambitious, driven Business Development Manager to join us and take responsibility for developing new business across an agreed UK region.

Industry experience is essential.

To be considered, you must have previous sales experience within at least one of the following areas:

• PPE / Personal Protective Equipment
• Corporate Clothing / Workwear
• Laundry Equipment
• Commercial Laundry Services

This is a genuine door-knocking, new business role. We’re looking for someone who enjoys picking up the phone, getting through the door, building relationships and turning prospects into long-term customers.

You’ll be selling a range of PPE, corporate workwear, laundry equipment and associated laundry services into a wide range of sectors, including:

• Industrial & Manufacturing
• Construction
• Offices & Corporate
• Emergency Services
• Oil & Gas
• Energy
• Healthcare
• Logistics & Distribution

The Role

As a Business Development Manager, you’ll be responsible for identifying and winning new customers within your region.

You’ll have the freedom to develop your own territory and target the sectors and businesses where you see the greatest opportunity.

Your role will include:

• Identifying and targeting new business opportunities
• Prospecting and generating your own leads
• Cold calling and arranging meetings with prospective customers
• Getting through the door and building relationships with key decision makers
• Conducting face-to-face meetings and presentations
• Understanding customer requirements and identifying opportunities to upsell our products and services
• Preparing quotations and negotiating commercial terms
• Managing the sales process from initial contact through to close
• Developing long-term relationships with newly won customers
• Working towards and exceeding sales targets
• Keeping up to date with industry trends, competitors and customer requirements

What We're Looking For

This role is not for someone looking for a purely account-management-focused position.

We want a true new business hunter – someone who is motivated by winning new customers and isn't afraid to pick up the phone, knock on doors and create opportunities from scratch.

You’ll already understand the industry, the customers, the buying process and the challenges businesses face when it comes to PPE, workwear and/or laundry provision.

We're looking for someone who is:

• Proven in a B2B new business sales environment
• A confident and persuasive communicator
• Commercially driven and target-focused
• Self-motivated and comfortable working independently
• Comfortable with cold calling and face-to-face sales
• A confident negotiator
• Persistent and resilient
• Able to identify opportunities and turn prospects into customers
• Hungry to earn through an uncapped commission structure

What's On Offer?

• £35,000 – £45,000 basic salary, depending on experience
• Uncapped commission
• OTE of approximately £50,000 – £60,000+, with the opportunity to earn more based on performance
