Business Development Manager (Assistant level considered)

Our client is an award-winning construction company looking for a Business Development Manager to win new work and grow its client base. You'll build relationships, keep the pipeline full, and work alongside the bid team to turn opportunities into contracts.

Assistant-level applicants will be considered, and full training will be provided.

What you'll do

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities while maintaining relationships with existing and prospective clients
• Manage a pipeline of opportunities across your designated sectors
• Build relationships with key decision-makers and position the company as a preferred partner
• Research the market to spot trends, target clients and untapped segments
• Prepare and submit Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQs) and keep supply chain information up to date
• Create persuasive presentations that put across the company's value
• Work with the bid team on tenders, and seek feedback to improve future submissions

What we're looking for

• Strong communication skills and a natural ability to build rapport and trust
• Previous business development experience (preferred, not essential at assistant level)
• Construction industry knowledge (highly desirable)
• Confident presenter, comfortable with different audiences
• Organised and adaptable, able to hit deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Good research, analytical and reporting skills
• Confident with IT tools and systems
• A positive, proactive approach and the drive to get results
