Elevation Recruitment Group is working with a well-established global manufacturing business, supplying engineered components to major OEMs across a range of industrial and engineering sectors, to appoint an experienced Buyer.

This is an excellent opportunity for a purchasing professional to join a genuinely global manufacturing organisation, contributing directly to purchasing strategy, supplier development and cost, quality and delivery performance across a diverse international supply base.

Reporting to the Purchasing Assistant Manager, you will take ownership of key supplier relationships, negotiate commercial agreements, and play an active role in new product introduction and strategic sourcing projects, working closely with engineering, manufacturing and supply chain colleagues to deliver best value for the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and develop strong supplier relationships, negotiating pricing, contracts and quotations
• Lead supplier meetings to drive improvements in cost, quality, delivery and service
• Identify, evaluate and onboard new global suppliers
• Support new product development, engineering changes and strategic sourcing activity
• Develop and implement commodity purchasing strategies
• Monitor supplier performance and lead continuous improvement initiatives
• Produce purchasing and supplier performance reports for management
• Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver wider purchasing objectives

What We're Looking For

• 3–5+ years' purchasing experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment
• Strong negotiation, commercial and supplier management skills
• Knowledge of contract management
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
• Self-motivated with strong problem-solving and decision-making ability
• Commercially minded, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects
