Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, is seeking a CAD Technician to join a team on a newly mobilised contract within the financial services sector.
Job Overview
This role supports both LSP and BAU MAC activities, providing CAD and document management expertise across day-to-day operations and project-based work. Working as part of a dedicated team, the CAD Technician will play a key role in maintaining accurate, secure and well-governed architectural and building information.
The position contributes to the transition towards structured BIM and digital records, ensuring that estate and building data is reliable, consistent and aligned with both operational and strategic requirements. While the primary location is London, there is flexibility for the right candidate, with London or Leeds preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the architectural archive, including digital drawings, BIM models and hard copy records, in line with access control and governance processes.
- Produce, revise and maintain accurate 2D CAD drawings and Revit BIM models to support BAU and project activity.
- Support the BIM transition by developing model content, applying structure and classification, and maintaining consistency and data integrity.
- Ensure alignment between CAD and BIM outputs and systems such as Planon and Meridian.
- Maintain accurate geometry, room data, departmental layouts, zoning and spatial definitions across CAD, Revit and IWMS platforms.
- Prepare and update space plans, seating layouts, occupancy models and scenario options to support workplace and operational change.
- Provide building intelligence, area data and model extracts to support feasibility studies, reporting and strategic planning.
- Apply strict information governance, security and confidentiality standards when handling sensitive architectural and estate data.
Person Specification
- HNC/HND or equivalent in CAD, Architectural Technology, Building Studies or a related discipline.
- Proven experience producing technical drawings and maintaining well-structured, sustainable BIM models.
- Strong proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, with Revit skills essential to support BIM transformation.
- Experience managing historical architectural archives, including preservation and digitisation activities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy in both geometric and data-driven information.
- Good understanding of space planning, building layouts, technical documentation and estates operations.
- Highly organised and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
