Job Description:

Residential Support Worker (Children’s Home)

Location: Ilford, East London

Salary: £13.50 – £15.00 per hour (paid monthly)

Hours: Full‑time, shift‑based (Mon–Sun)

Day Shifts: 8:00am – 8:30pm Waking Nights: 8:00pm – 8:30am

We are seeking full‑time Residential Support Workers to support children and young people in a safe, nurturing, and structured home environment. This is a rewarding role where you will help create positive outcomes and stability for those in your care.

Essential Requirements

• Minimum 6 months’ experience working with children or young people in any care, education or support setting.

• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

• Ability to advocate for young people and promote their wellbeing

• Reliable, professional, and committed to safeguarding

Desirable

• Residential childcare experience (highly advantageous)

• Experience working effectively within a team

• High integrity and emotional resilience

Key Responsibilities

• Support children and young people in daily routines

• Create and maintain a safe, nurturing home environment

• Build positive, trusting relationships as a key worker

• Promote education, independence, and positive behaviour

• Work with social workers, families, and other professionals

• Contribute to care plans and independence goals

• Maintain a clean, organised home environment

• Complete accurate records and essential admin

• Make informed decisions to support young people during shifts

• Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver high‑quality care
