Job Description:

The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known and industry-leading client based in Preston. We are looking for experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers (CAT C+E) to join the team.

Shifts: Monday to Friday

Hours : 08:30am start 

Pay Rate: £16.36 per hour PAYE with overtime at £24.54 after 40 hours 

Location: Preston, PR2 

Job Type: Ongoing 

The role:

· Mainly collections with some deliveries (6- 10 collections and 1-5 deliveries)

. Manual handling required as drivers will assist with loading and unloading parcels at depots and customers locations. 

· Collaborate with a team to ensure efficient operations and timely Collections / deliveries.

.Operating devices and company software to update delivery status and to communicate with the depot. 

· Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle, ensuring roadworthiness and compliance with company standards.

· Adhere to all relevant traffic laws, regulations, and company policies to maintain a high level of safety on the road.

· Effectively communicate with dispatch and logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.

Requirements:

· Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E).

· Have at least 6 months of proven experience driving the relevant vehicle.

· Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.

· No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).

· Full understanding of WTD legislation.

· Excellent communication skills.

· A safety-first mindset.
