CNC Machinist Setter/Operator
Salary: £27,851 - £34,278 per annum (DOE) + 15% Shift Allowance
Our client is looking for an experienced CNC Machinist Setter/Operator with conventional machining experience to join their growing precision engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a well-established manufacturer producing high-quality precision components within a modern and supportive production environment.

The Role
As a CNC Machinist Setter/Operator, you will be responsible for producing precision-engineered metal components to tight tolerances. Working within the production team, you'll programme, set and operate CNC machining centres while also carrying out conventional machining duties where required.
You'll report directly to the PM Production Supervisor and work alongside an experienced team committed to delivering quality products.
Key Responsibilities
- Programme CNC machines using G-code or CAM software (such as Siemens, EdgeCAM or similar).
- Set, prepare and operate CNC machining centres.
- Produce high-quality precision components to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Carry out manual machining operations using conventional mills and/or lathes.
- Inspect finished components to ensure they meet quality standards and tolerances.
- Perform machine set-ups, tool changes and basic machine maintenance.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
- Work efficiently to meet production deadlines while maintaining exceptional quality.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of 2 years' experience within a manufacturing or precision engineering environment.
- Experience programming, setting and operating CNC machinery.
- Manual machining experience using conventional mills and/or lathes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Flexible, reliable and a strong team player.
Working Hours
PM Shift (37.5 hours per week)
- Monday to Wednesday: 1:30pm - 11:30pm
- Thursday: 1:30pm - 11:00pm
