Nelson

Days: 8am – 4:3pm Monday to Thursday, 8am – 2pm Friday £16.62 per hour

Or

Nights: 10pm – 7am Monday to Thursday £23.27 per hour

Rapid Recruit are currently looking for experienced CNC Machinist’s to join our client’s team in Nelson. The successful candidate will support the business as a programmer, setter and operator of CNC Lathes working to manageable deadlines and producing a quality product in line with company quality policy and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set and operate CNC Lathes using engineering drawings and existing programmes.
• Write and prove CNC programmes when required.
• Set up tooling and prepare machines for production.
• Carry out first-off and in-process inspections, taking responsibility for the quality of your own work.
• Deburr components where possible.
• Run and manage more than one machine when required.
• Complete relevant production paperwork and shop floor records.
• Carry out basic machine maintenance and keep the work area clean and tidy.
• Plan ahead and prepare for the next job.
• Work as part of a team and contribute to improvements within the CNC section.
• Maintain good timekeeping and be flexible to support other areas of the factory when required.

Requirements:

• Time-served and experience working with CNC Lathes.
• Experience with Mazak, Doosan and/or Citizen machinery would be beneficial.
• Good problem-solving and practical skills.
• Methodical approach to machine setting.
• Good eye for quality and attention to detail.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Self-motivated and able to manage workload effectively.
