Cowell Recruitment are delighted to be supporting our client in their search for a talented Commercial Account/development Executive for their successful branch based in Cardiff.

An established, rapidly growing commercial insurance broker based in Whitchurch, Cardiff is seeking a driven Commercial Account Executive / Development Executive to join their expanding local team.

Over the past 12 years, the Cardiff office has experienced significant growth, and this role is key to supporting their next phase of expansion. Working closely with the Development Director, you will be responsible for building relationships with existing clients while driving new business across a diverse client portfolio—ranging from local sole traders to corporate CEOs and Managing Directors.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage relationships with commercial B2B clients across various industry sectors.

• Drive new business development through local community engagement, active networking, targeted marketing, and face-to-face client meetings.

• Partner with the Development Director to identify market opportunities and deliver tailored insurance solutions.

• Take a consultative approach to understanding client risks, utilizing effective questioning and active listening to provide expert advice.

• Spot cross-selling and up-selling opportunities while always focusing on delivering exceptional client outcomes.

About You

• Proven Experience: Background in commercial insurance, winning new B2B business, and building lasting client relationships.

• Proactive & Tenacious: A genuine passion for networking, lead generation, and market engagement to build a strong local presence.

• Consultative Approach: Outstanding communication and active listening skills, with the ability to question effectively and guide clients to the best insurance solutions.

• Curious & Adaptable: A natural curiosity for business that helps you identify risk solutions, combined with a desire to continuously learn and grow.
