Job Title: Commercial Asset Manager - Interim

Location: Inner East London
Rate: £371.04 per day (PAYE) / £500 per day (Umbrella)
Contract Type: Interim

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Asset Manager to strategically manage a diverse portfolio of up to 150 commercial properties. You will maximise rental income, minimise costs, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations. This role includes managing lettings, rent reviews, lease renewals, dispute resolution, and maintaining high standards of property maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a commercial property portfolio, identifying opportunities to increase rental income and reduce costs.
• Handle rent reviews, lease renewals, and dispute resolution, including arbitration or expert determination.
• Market and let vacant units, negotiating terms and assessing tenant suitability.
• Collaborate with Income and Debt Officers to minimise rent arrears and initiate debt recovery processes.
• Ensure properties are well-maintained, coordinating routine repairs and planned maintenance.
• Manage multi-let assets and oversee external managing agents where necessary.
• Address landlord and tenant issues, including licence applications, subletting, and covenant breaches.
• Represent the organisation in court for disputes and other legal matters.

Requirements:

• Nationally recognised degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Membership of RICS (Valuation or Commercial Property pathways) or working towards qualification.
• Significant experience in commercial property management.
• Knowledge of statutory compliance, Health & Safety legislation, and financial/legal processes related to commercial property.
• Experience with property data management systems and intermediate-level proficiency in business software (e.g., Microsoft 365, Google Workspace).
