Job Description:

Location: Manchester / Bolton
Salary: £66,000 - £90,000

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager - MEP to play a pivotal leadership role within a growing regional business. Working closely with the Regional Director, you will help drive commercial performance, support regional growth, and oversee the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of high-value M&E projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute leader to influence business strategy, lead commercial operations, and contribute to the expansion of a successful engineering operation across the North West.

• Lead the commercial function across multiple M&E projects and programmes.
• Develop and implement regional commercial strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Manage revenue, margin, cash flow and overall cost control performance.
• Review and oversee project budgets, forecasts, Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) and final accounts.
• Manage variations, compensation events, claims and contractual entitlements.
• Support major tenders, negotiated opportunities and pre-construction activities.
• Review contract terms and assess commercial and contractual risk profiles.
• Lead commercial negotiations and support dispute avoidance and resolution.
• Build, develop and mentor a high-performing commercial team.
• Work closely with operational leaders, clients and supply chain partners to achieve successful project outcomes.
• Ensure robust commercial governance, reporting and compliance across all projects.
• Drive continuous improvement in commercial processes and performance.

• Significant experience in a senior commercial leadership role within an M&E or MEP contracting environment.
• Proven track record managing commercial performance across large-scale project portfolios.
• Strong understanding of JCT and NEC forms of contract.
• Experience managing project profitability, cash flow, forecasting and commercial reporting.
• Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience managing complex contractual matters, variations and claims.
• Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on project support.
• Strong analytical, organisational and decision-making abilities.

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related commercial discipline.
• Extensive experience working within building services, M&E or engineering sectors.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor and develop commercial teams.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Commercially driven with a proactive and solutions-focused approach.
• Comfortable operating within a fast-paced and evolving business environment.
