Commercial Manager - Folkestone - Up to £55,000

Location: Folkestone, Kent
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to drive business growth across a range of freight forwarding and logistics services. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially focused sales professional with experience in the logistics industry to develop new business, strengthen existing customer relationships, and maximise revenue opportunities.

Working closely with operational teams, you will ensure customers receive a high-quality service while identifying opportunities to grow accounts and expand service offerings.

• Identify, develop and secure new business opportunities across:
  • Road Freight
  • Sea Freight
  • Air Freight
  • Courier Services
  • Warehousing
  • Customs Services
• Generate new leads and convert opportunities into long-term business.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
• Develop target markets and identify opportunities to expand current customer accounts.
• Work closely with operational teams to ensure seamless onboarding and excellent customer service.
• Manage account profitability by maintaining appropriate pricing strategies and profit margins.
• Conduct customer meetings, site visits and attend industry events to strengthen business relationships.
• Deliver tailored logistics solutions that support customer growth and long-term retention.
• Contribute towards the continued commercial growth and profitability of the business.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Previous experience in a Business Development, Sales or Commercial role within a freight forwarding or logistics company.
• A proven track record of winning new business and increasing revenue.
• Experience selling Air Freight, Sea Freight and/or Road Freight services.
• Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills.
• Strong negotiation and influencing abilities.
• The confidence to communicate effectively both over the phone and face-to-face.
• A resilient, positive and self-motivated approach.
• Excellent organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
• Strong analytical thinking and commercial awareness.
• High level of IT literacy.
• The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while working collaboratively as part of a team.
• A strong sense of accountability and ownership.
