Contractor Hardware Technician / Electronic Technician –Low & High Voltage, Electric Drive Systems 

Greater Norwich area

Contract Opportunity - Outside IR35

2 months+, strong likelihood of further extensions as project is ongoing

ARCA Resourcing is proud to partner with an innovative engineering organisation at the forefront of next-generation electric propulsion technology. We’re looking for an experienced Hardware Technician to support the build and development of advanced electric drive systems in a fast-paced R&D environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity to get hands-on with cutting-edge prototype hardware that will help shape the future of mobility.

What You’ll Be Doing:

•  Building, modifying, and maintaining prototype motors, inverters, wiring harnesses, and test boxes
•  PCB assembly, soldering, rework, and fault finding
•  Supporting prototype testing, data capture, and issue resolution
•  Working closely with engineers to interpret drawings, BOMs, and design updates
•  Maintaining a safe, organised, and fully operational engineering lab
•  Managing tooling, calibration, stock, and consumables
•  Ensuring accurate build documentation and configuration control
•  Working safely with AC/DC systems up to 600V / 25kW
•  Contributing to continuous improvement of lab processes and workflows

What We’re Looking For:

•  Hands-on hardware build and assembly experience
•  Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
•  Experience using multimeters, oscilloscopes, soldering equipment, and test tools
•  Ability to read technical drawings and follow build instructions
•  Excellent attention to detail and documentation standards
•  Good understanding of ESD and electrical safety practices

Contract Details:

•  Start: ASAP
•  Duration: Initially up to 8 weeks (with strong likelihood of extension)
•  Hours: Flexible / mutually agreed
•  Based onsite Monday - Friday
