Operating nationally, the business works across a range of sectors, including student accommodation, build-to-rent, private rented housing, care and hospitality.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding Contract Division and play a key role in developing new business, growing existing accounts and contributing to the company's continued success.

About the Role

As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for sales activity across a designated geographical area, with a focus on generating new business opportunities, developing existing customer relationships and securing contract projects.

Working closely with internal design, estimating, customer service and operational teams, you will help translate customer requirements into commercially viable proposals, manage opportunities through the sales pipeline and drive conversion.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities within the contract marketplace.

• Build relationships with target organisations and key decision-makers to secure opportunities to tender for new sites and projects.

• Manage and grow existing customer accounts, maximising commercial opportunities.

• Understand customer briefs, project requirements, budgets and commercial expectations.

• Work closely with design and estimating teams to ensure proposals meet customer requirements and planning conditions.

• Prepare clear, accurate briefs and persuasive presentations to support tender submissions and sales opportunities.

• Manage the sales pipeline, tracking opportunities from initial contact through to quotation and conversion.

• Maintain accurate CRM records and provide sales reports and forecasts as required.

• Collaborate with customer service, installation and operational teams to support project delivery and resolve issues.

• Attend internal meetings and external customer appointments as required.

• Work towards agreed sales targets, account acquisition and new business generation objectives.

Requirements / Skills

• Proven experience in business development or contract sales within the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom sector, or a closely related industry.

• A strong track record of winning new business, developing accounts and converting opportunities.

• Good knowledge of KBB products, design considerations and customer requirements.

• Understanding of furniture materials, manufacturing processes and installation requirements.

• The ability to interpret customer briefs and work effectively with design and estimating teams.

• Strong commercial awareness, negotiation skills and business acumen.

• Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.

• A proactive, organised and results-driven approach, with the ability to work independently.

• Confidence in managing competing priorities and resolving challenges collaboratively.

• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

• Experience using CRM systems; knowledge of Anthill and Smartsheet would be advantageous.

• Existing industry contacts would be beneficial.

• A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within your designated region.
