Control Panel Engineer

Job Summary
The post holder will be part of a team based in the East Midlands. The successful candidate will design, build, test, and maintain electrical control panels used in industrial machinery and automation systems. They will ensure panels meet safety standards, client specifications, and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Control Panel Engineering
- Design electrical control panels using eDraw; create wiring diagrams, schematics, and layout drawings
- Select appropriate components (PLCs, relays, circuit breakers, HMIs, etc.)
- Assemble and wire control panels according to designs
- Perform testing, inspection, and fault-finding of panels
- Ensure compliance with industry standards
- Support installation and commissioning on-site when required
- Maintain documentation and update drawings as needed
- Troubleshoot and repair existing control panels
Documentation & Reporting
- Accurately complete build records, test reports, and checklists
- Record non-conformances and support corrective actions
- Provide feedback to engineering and production teams for continuous improvement
General
- Adhere to all procedures, protocols and other relevant memoranda as appropriate
- Maintain strict confidentiality in relation to all issues within the company, adhering to the Data Protection Act and GDPR regulations
- Adhere to Health and Safety Policy
- Communicate outstanding issues to line manager before going off duty
- Notify your manager of any circumstances which may affect the provision of a high quality service
- Report any faults with systems, tools, or equipment to the relevant member of staff
