Control Systems Engineer

The Opportunity We’re working with a well-established manufacturing business to recruit a Control Systems Engineer to support and develop site automation.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll play a key part in keeping production running efficiently, while also leading improvement projects across control systems and automation.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Supporting and maintaining PLC and automation systems across site
• Fault finding and resolving electrical/control system issues
• Delivering automation and upgrade projects (CAPEX)
• Working closely with engineering, production, and external suppliers
• Driving continuous improvement across processes and systems
• Coaching and supporting teams to build automation capability
• Ensuring systems meet safety and compliance standards
• Managing documentation and system lifecycle improvements
• Supporting site when required for critical automation issues

What We’re Looking For

• Background in automation / control systems within manufacturing
• Strong electrical and PLC fault-finding experience
• Experience with Siemens PLCs (essential)
• TIA Portal or other PLC platforms (Rockwell, Mitsubishi, Omron) beneficial
• Experience delivering projects and continuous improvement work
• Able to work both hands-on and as part of a wider team
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
