Senior Social Worker / Senior Practitioner – Children’s Services

Bromley, Kent | £38.99 per hour (Umbrella)

We are seeking a confident, dynamic and experienced Senior Social Worker / Senior Practitioner to join a Children’s Services team in Bromley. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled practitioner passionate about safeguarding children, managing complex cases and achieving positive outcomes for children and families.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of Child in Need, Child Protection, Public Law Outline (PLO) and care proceedings cases.
• Work with children and young people up to the age of 18.
• Undertake complex safeguarding assessments and interventions.
• Manage permanence planning and promote safe, stable outcomes for children.
• Undertake direct work with children and families and build effective professional relationships.
• Work collaboratively with partner agencies and contribute to multi-agency safeguarding plans.
• Prepare reports and evidence for court proceedings and attend court when required.
• Maintain accurate case records and demonstrate sound professional judgement and decision-making.

Essential Requirements

• Recognised Social Work degree (BA/MA or equivalent) – essential.
• Current Social Work England registration.
• Minimum 2 years' experience working at Senior Practitioner level.
• Enhanced DBS clearance.
• Significant experience in Child Protection and Court Proceedings teams.
• Strong experience managing complex safeguarding and permanence cases.
• Excellent communication, analytical and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work confidently and independently with complex cases.
