Job Description:

1. Senior Social Worker – Assessment & Intervention

   Southwark, Surrey | £39.04 per hour (Umbrella)

   We are seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join an Assessment and Intervention Service in Southwark. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled children’s social worker to work with children and families, undertake complex assessments and help achieve positive outcomes for children.

   Key Responsibilities

   • Undertake assessments of children and their families.
   • Carry out home visits and meaningful direct work with children.
   • Undertake Section 47 enquiries and child protection work.
   • Complete risk assessments and develop effective safety plans.
   • Manage complex cases and make sound professional decisions.
   • Work collaboratively with families and multi-agency professionals.
   • Participate in the team’s duty rota.

   Essential Requirements

   • Minimum 5 years’ post-qualified Social Work experience.
   • Completed ASYE.
   • At least 3 years’ experience in a permanent Social Worker role.
   • Previous experience working within a Children’s Assessment Team is essential.
   • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, risk assessment and safety planning.
   • Confident undertaking direct work with children and families.
