Customer Service Representative

6-Month Fixed-Term Contract 📍 Southwark, London (Hybrid - 1 day per week in the office) ⏰ Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm 💰 Salary: £27,500

About the Company

Our client is a well-established organisation operating within the UK construction and home improvement sector, supporting businesses, homeowners, and industry professionals through certification, compliance, and customer support services. They are committed to maintaining high industry standards while delivering an exceptional service experience to their members and customers.

Due to increased demand, they are looking to appoint a Customer Service Representative on an initial 6-month contract to support their busy customer operations team. Based near Southwark, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys helping customers, resolving queries, and working within a professional and collaborative environment.

The Role

As a Customer Service Representative, you will act as a key point of contact for customers and members, providing accurate information and administrative support across a range of enquiries. You will communicate via phone and email, ensuring a high standard of service at all times while maintaining accurate records and supporting membership administration

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver a professional and responsive customer service experience to customers and members
• Handle inbound and outbound telephone calls and email enquiries
• Work collaboratively with internal teams to resolve customer queries efficiently
• Maintain and update customer and member records accurately
• Support membership administration, including processing documentation and account updates
• Process payments and issue receipts where required
• Assist with account maintenance and credit control activities
• Correspond with members regarding account and service-related matters
• Identify solutions to customer issues while ensuring compliance with company procedures
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to team objectives

About You

• Previous experience within a customer service, contact centre, membership, or administrative support role.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities.
• Confident using Microsoft Office and CRM/customer management systems.
• Comfortable handling customer queries via phone and email.
• Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Professional, positive, and proactive approach to customer service.
• Experience within a membership, compliance, certification, or regulated environment would be advantageous but not essential.
