Job Description:

Our client, a respected children's residential care provider, has two Deputy Manager vacancies across its emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) homes in Waltham Abbey, Epping Forest.

You'll support the Registered Manager to lead a stable, nurturing home for young people with emotional and behavioural needs, often with histories of trauma.

The role

• Deputise for the Registered Manager and take the lead on shift
• Lead, supervise and develop the staff team, including rotas, supervisions and appraisals
• Promote positive behaviour support and trauma-informed practice
• Oversee care plans, risk assessments, incident reporting and safeguarding
• Keep the home compliant with the Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards, and support Ofsted and Regulation 44 visits
• Work with social workers, schools, CAMHS and families

About you

• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent), essential; Level 5 or working towards it desirable
• At least 2 years' experience in children's EBD residential care, including at a senior or supervisory level
• Confident managing challenging behaviour and leading a team through it calmly
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding and Ofsted requirements
• Full UK driving licence preferred
• Enhanced DBS (or willing to obtain). Applicants must have the right to work in the UK, as sponsorship is not available
