The Role

As a Design Manager, you’ll:

• Lead and manage the full design process from bid to delivery, ensuring projects meet technical, commercial, and client requirements.
• Oversee design resources and coordinate design teams, suppliers, and partners to meet project goals.
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement, challenging briefs where needed to achieve the best outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with departmental procedures, RIBA stages, legislation, and industry standards.
• Manage design within budget constraints while fully incorporating customer requirements.
• Chair and coordinate design reviews, ensuring smooth communication between stakeholders.

About You

We’re looking for a proven Design Manager who can hit the ground running. You will have:

• Strong knowledge of construction design and techniques.
• HNC/HND/BSc in Design Management, Construction, or related discipline, and/or CIOB membership.
• Main contracting experience delivering projects between £5m and £40m.
• Experience in pre-construction (PSCA) and BIM.
• The ability to lead teams, mentor colleagues, and foster collaborative working relationships.
