Dual Registered Manager – Children's Residential Homes

Romford & Wickford
£65,000 – £80,000 per annum (DOE)
Full Time | Permanent

We are seeking a passionate, resilient and child-focused leader to manage two Ofsted-regulated homes located in Romford and Wickford. The Role

As the Dual Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the leadership, management and performance of both homes, ensuring they consistently deliver safe, therapeutic and high-quality care whilst remaining fully compliant with Ofsted regulations and Children's Homes Quality Standards. Dual registration is considered by Ofsted where the manager can demonstrate the experience and capacity to oversee both homes effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide effective leadership across both children's homes.
• Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
• Promote positive outcomes for children and young people through high-quality, child-centred care.
• Lead, motivate and develop Residential, Senior and Deputy Managers.
• Complete staff supervision, appraisals and performance management.
• Manage safeguarding concerns and ensure robust risk management practices.
• Maintain excellent relationships with Local Authorities, social workers, families and external professionals.
• Drive occupancy and oversee referrals where required.
• Monitor budgets and ensure efficient financial management.
• Lead on inspections and implement continuous quality improvement plans.
• Maintain accurate records, audits and quality assurance systems.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Registered Manager within an Ofsted-regulated children's residential home.
• Experience managing multiple services or the capability to step into a dual registration role.
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding legislation and Children's Homes Regulations.
• Proven track record of achieving Good or Outstanding Ofsted inspections.
• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
