Job Description:

Location: Stevenage (4 days per week onsite)

Duration: 12-month initial contract

IR35: Inside IR35

Hours: 40 hours per week (8 hours a day to be completed between 07:00-19:00)

Active DV clearance required

Role details:

We are looking for a DV Cleared Network Engineer to support our defence client on a contract basis. This contract role will focus on network infrastructure, security, service support and crypto management within a high-profile technical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide dedicated network support at the Stevenage site, with Bolton and Bristol also within scope.
• Support the effective delivery, maintenance and continuous improvement of network services.
• Own the remediation of identified network issues and risks, using reports and technical intelligence.
• Support business initiatives as part of the wider network engineering team.
• Build effective relationships with partners and external suppliers to optimise service delivery.
• Work with security teams on security reporting, risk analysis and network assurance.
• Collaborate with service management and network service teams to meet agreed requirements.
• Work with crypto network specialists on crypto management and technical support.

Job Requirements:

• Active DV Clearance.
• Professional background in information technology and network engineering.
• CCNA or CCNP qualification, or equivalent technical capability.
• Demonstrable crypto experience and a strong understanding of crypto best practice.
• Knowledge of Cisco Catalyst Center, Cisco ISE, Cisco best practice and Cisco Validated Designs.
• Strong understanding of the OSI model and network communication protocols, including HSRP, VRRP, HTTP/S, OSPF, BGP, SSL and TCP/IP.
• Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Linux, RHEL, VMware and vSphere, with exposure to Software-Defined Access principles and deployments.
• Understanding of authentication services, network cabling fundamentals and monitoring technologies such as Nagios, PRTG and SolarWinds.
