Hays Education work with a wide range of primary schools across Coventry and support Early Career Teachers at the start of their teaching careers.

Whether you're looking to gain experience in different schools through supply teaching or hoping to find a school that can support you through your ECT induction, we can provide advice and guidance to help you take the next step. We have established relationships with schools across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 and regularly support ECTs in finding opportunities that suit their career goals.

Your new role

If you're completing your teacher training and starting to think about September, now is a great time to explore the options available to you.

Many ECTs choose to begin with supply teaching, allowing them to gain experience across different schools, year groups and teaching environments while building confidence in the classroom. Others are focused on securing a longer-term role where they can complete their ECT induction and establish themselves within a school community.

Whatever your preference, Hays Education can support you throughout the process. We'll take the time to understand what you're looking for and help identify opportunities that match your experience, strengths and future ambitions.
Whether you're interested in day-to-day supply, longer-term placements, maternity cover or your first permanent teaching role, we'd be keen to speak with you.

What you'll need to succeed

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or expected QTS before September
• Successful teaching placements within primary schools
• Good knowledge of the primary curriculum
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A positive and proactive approach
• Flexibility and willingness to learn
• Commitment to developing your teaching practice
