Job Description:
Electrical Engineer – Central London (Security Systems)
£50,000 – £55,000 | Central London (Zone 1) | No call-out rotas
Our client is a bespoke electronic security provider based in central London, working with high-profile clients who expect precision, reliability, and genuinely good service. We're looking for an Electrical Engineer with a strong technical background and a real focus on the client, someone who takes pride in getting the detail right and fits with a team that puts service at the centre of everything it does.
This role is ideal for an electrical or electronic engineer with hands-on maintenance experience; whether your background is in security systems, building services, fire alarms, low-voltage electrical work, or general technical maintenance. Full training and support will be given to build your specialism in CCTV and access control if this isn't already your core area.
What you'll be doing
- Planned preventive maintenance and reactive servicing of electronic security systems (CCTV, IP cameras, NVRs/DVRs, access control) across multiple Central London sites
- Fault-finding, diagnostics, repairs and component replacement on cameras, switches, cabling, power supplies, readers, locks, and related equipment
- Commissioning minor system changes and supporting small-scale installations and upgrades
- Keeping accurate service records and logging faults/actions in the maintenance management system
- Working directly with clients to diagnose issues, explain solutions clearly, and keep disruption to a minimum
- Configuring access rights, user credentials, door schedules and alarm integration
- Basic network configuration (IP addressing, VLANs, port forwards) where needed
- Flagging recurring issues and suggesting improvements to how the service runs
What we're looking for
- Solid hands-on experience in electrical, electronic, or technical maintenance (security systems experience is a bonus, not a must)
- A methodical, practical approach to troubleshooting
- Comfortable with basic networking concepts (or willing to learn)
- Electrical/electronic background; a relevant qualification or strong practical experience
- ECS card required
- Able to obtain/maintain DBS clearance
- Strong communication skills; confident explaining technical issues to non-technical clients
- Happy working independently and as part of a small, close-knit team
What you'll get
- 23 days holiday plus your birthday off (with a £50 voucher to enjoy the day), plus all statutory holidays
- Phone and iPad provided
- Company pension and annual bonus scheme
- Company vehicle or allowance; role is mainly Zone 1, so they're flexible on public transport with all costs covered
- No call-out rotas
- A team genuinely invested in helping you grow and progress
