The Supply Register is recruiting on behalf of Newcastle College for an Electrical Engineering Lecturer (Mathematics & Physics) to join the Higher Education team on a full-time, ongoing temporary basis.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineering professional or Engineering Lecturer with strong knowledge of engineering mathematics and physics to support the delivery of Higher Education programmes.
Working within a modern and well-equipped learning environment, you will help students develop the mathematical, scientific, and engineering principles that underpin successful careers within the electrical engineering sector.
The RoleAs an Electrical Engineering Lecturer, you will:
Deliver high-quality teaching across Higher Education Electrical Engineering programmes
Teach engineering mathematics and applied physics within an electrical engineering context
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and inclusive learning sessions
Support learners to develop strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
Assess learner progress and provide timely, constructive feedback
Create a positive, supportive, and professional learning environment
Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement
Essential:
Degree or higher qualification in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline
Strong knowledge of engineering mathematics and applied physics
Relevant industry experience within electrical engineering, power systems, automation, manufacturing, controls, or a related sector
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Passion for supporting learners within Higher Education
Desirable:
Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DET, DTLLS, or equivalent)
HNC/HND or postgraduate qualification in Electrical Engineering
Previous experience teaching within Further or Higher Education
Experience delivering engineering mathematics, electrical principles, or applied physics modules
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain)
