This established manufacturing company is entering an exciting period of growth and expansion, with a £35 million investment in a new factory. They are looking for an electrically qualified engineer who wants to build on their maintenance experience and move into a Process Engineering role.

If you’re looking for opportunities to take ownership of projects, introduce your own ideas and develop your engineering skills while remaining hands-on, this could be an excellent next step. You’ll support the development of the new factory, get involved in CAPEX projects and help drive improvements across the site.

The role offers a varied mix of project work, installations, commissioning, continuous improvement and electrical maintenance support. As the factory develops, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to new ways of working and help improve the performance and reliability of manufacturing processes.

The company supports training and development, with genuine opportunities to attend Siemens PLC and robotics training courses. This would ideally suit an Electrical Maintenance Engineer with strong fault finding skills who is keen to develop their PLC knowledge further, including modifications and minor programming.

Responsibilities

Your role will combine electrical engineering support with process improvement and project work, including:

Supporting CAPEX projects associated with the new factory’s development and expansion.
Taking ownership of agreed engineering projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Assisting with the installation and commissioning of machinery and equipment.
Bringing forward ideas to improve manufacturing processes, equipment reliability and efficiency.
Supporting electrical maintenance and fault finding on PLC-controlled machinery.
Developing your PLC and automation skills through practical experience and training.

Requirements

Hold relevant electrical engineering qualifications, ideally gained through a recognised apprenticeship.
Have electrical maintenance experience supporting PLC-controlled machinery within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Good exposure to PLCs and strong electrical and PLC fault finding skills are essential.
Have a genuine desire to develop your PLC knowledge, including modifications and minor programming.
Previous experience with Siemens PLCs, programming, commissioning or engineering projects would be beneficial.
Be willing to learn, contribute ideas and take on greater responsibility as your skills develop.
A friendly, proactive and adaptable approach, together with good communication and a commitment to safe working practices.

Your current/previous job titles could include: Service Engineer, Maintenance Electrician, Electrical Engineer, Electrical Maintenance Engineer, Electrical Technician etc.
