Salary: £48,000
Location: Poole, Dorset
Are you an electrically qualified Maintenance Engineer looking to move away from shift work into a Monday-to-Friday days role?
Do you have experience maintaining electrical infrastructure, industrial utilities or building services within a manufacturing or facilities environment?
We're working with a leading UK food manufacturer to recruit an Electrical Site Services Engineer to join their established engineering team in Poole.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer who enjoys varied, hands-on maintenance work and wants to take ownership of the electrical systems that keep a large manufacturing facility running.
You'll be working across a wide range of site services and utilities, including electrical distribution systems, switchgear, control panels, industrial boilers, compressors, pumps, refrigeration and ventilation systems.
Unlike a traditional production maintenance position, your focus will be on the site's electrical infrastructure, utilities and building services, ensuring essential equipment remains safe, reliable and fully operational.
As an Electrical Site Services Engineer, you'll play a key role in maintaining and improving the site's electrical infrastructure, utilities and associated building services.
Responsibilities:
Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across site services, utilities and building infrastructure.
Diagnose and repair electrical faults across three-phase systems, motors, control panels, contactors, relays, inverters and associated electrical equipment.
Maintain and inspect electrical distribution systems, switchgear, distribution boards, isolators and associated infrastructure.
Support the maintenance of industrial utilities, including the electrical systems associated with boilers, compressors, refrigeration plant, pumps and ventilation equipment.
Carry out electrical installation work, component replacements, modifications and upgrades across the site.
Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics to identify faults and support maintenance activities.
Support electrical compliance activities, including inspection, testing, preventative maintenance and safe isolation procedures.
Coordinate external contractors and specialist service providers, ensuring all work is completed safely and to the required standards.
Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, energy efficiency and site infrastructure, supporting ongoing improvement projects.
We're looking for an electrically qualified engineer with strong fault-finding skills and experience working with industrial electrical systems.
Ideally, you'll have:
A recognised electrical engineering qualification, such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent.
Previous experience within manufacturing, industrial facilities, utilities or building services maintenance.
Strong electrical fault-finding skills across three-phase systems, motors, control panels and associated electrical equipment.
Experience maintaining electrical distribution systems, switchgear, distribution boards or industrial electrical installations.
Confidence reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics.
A good understanding of electrical safety, safe isolation and permit-to-work procedures.
Experience supporting the electrical maintenance of industrial utilities, such as compressors, boilers, refrigeration systems, pumps or ventilation equipment.
Desirable qualifications and experience:
18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing.
Experience with building management systems (BMS).
Previous involvement in electrical installation projects, site upgrades or contractor management.
